Wind energy at ArcelorMittal
More than 80% of the components in a wind turbine and its related infrastructure are made with steel.
ArcelorMittal’s steels have been successfully used in the manufacture of more than 10,000 onshore and offshore wind turbine towers since 2005.
ArcelorMittal produces an extensive portfolio of steels which are used in the major components of a wind farm: foundations, tower, nacelle, generator, gearbox, yaw, pitch, mooring ropes, power cables and fasteners.
XCarb®
Power your projects with steel that reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 85% from cradle-to-gate. Our XCarb® recycled and renewably produced products are EPD-certified and manufactured in Europe, supporting critical projects in the renewable energy sector.
Bars and rods' offer includes
SBQ (Special Bar Quality) steels for foundations and flanges, connectors and mechanical parts
Wire rods for fasteners, bolts, screws
Rebars (concrete reinforcement bar) for onshore and concrete offshore foundations
We offer standard steel grades, but with our strong R&D, we can also develop smart solutions to take into account the wind energy specificities.
