In locations where the soil bearing capacities for heavily loaded industrial floors are rather limited or where good uniform soils become too expensive for industrial applications, the use of pile supported slabs has become more and more popular.
While traditional reinforced slabs on piles are reinforced by at least two layers of welded mesh (including spacers and stirrups) and require the concrete to be pumped, TAB®Structural requires no pumping and no fabric installation, thus speeding up job-site construction significantly. Pile grids can be up to 6 by 6 m depending on the loading conditions. A square pile grid is preferred in order to have the most economical solution. For this reason, the edge span should be reduced to about 60-70% of the internal span.
Typical fibre dosage rates are from 40 to 50 kg/m³. Over 6 million m² of reference surfaces are available today.
